Phew it’s done! I did the 30th anniversary virgin Virgin lonDONE marathon 2010! Yeah baby! And boy does it hurt now. I’m too tired to write about it now, but I’ll come back tomorrow…

Jeez today was strange. Sit, rest, fidget, get up, told off, sit, rest, pack, short run EAT and DRINK. This was my day.

We lay on the sofa and watched 3 episodes of THE WIRE which was a great distraction. Mum and Dad popped around about 4pm, we had tea and chatted.

I woke every 1.5 hours through the night. Not great, but as expected.

Nervous. Didn’t sleep well – typical, the day I read that Thu/Fri night are the most important for sleep. Nerves are not being helped by everyone at work asking every two mins “are you nervous?!” or “oooh looks hot on Sunday…”

Breathe, breathe.

mmm, who would have thought, I of all people, would get fed up with eating?! I’m thinking about it 24/7 and worried that I’m not stuffing enough carbs down me gullet. I am eating pieces of toast left right and centre. Lunch is chicken curry, with a baked potato and a side of cous cous!! I feel bloated just thinking about it!

This lunchtime saw my last run before the big day! I ran from work up to Regent’s Park and home. It was only 2 miles, or which most I tried to keep on marathon pace – felt fine. I definitely had a spring in my step and felt like shouting to people lunching on the grass “I’m running the marathon on Sunday, don’t you know. Look how fit I am” ! Speedy shower at home along with a last scour of my room to check I had anything. I located my Garmin dongle, which I thought I had lost, phew. I also picked up my running cap, Sunday looks to be sunny and warm – boo. Never have I wanted the weather to be cool and overcast before!

I’m now sitting waiting for the end of the day when I can get to the Expo center for registration. Why they have to make us trek out to Custom house I don’t know. I love it, they advise you to rest as much as possible this week, not get too excited, stressed etc etc, then make you travel to a huge show, full of stalls, people and most probably queues… sigh.

Tonight was full of good lucks, as I went to the club for the last time before Sunday. I ran with a couple of fairly new members, also doing London. We did the madam Tussuad route, but cut it short. Just over 4 miles I think.

Maurice nearly hugged me good luck and said it would be “a piece of cake”
